Lady Hornet and Hornets Close Out The Regular Season

The Lady Hornet softball and the Hornet baseball teams recently concluded the regular season with season-best records and the Show Me Central Conference Championships.

The Lady Hornets finished the regular season 24-2 and undefeated in conference play. They closed out the regular season by clinching the inaugural Show Me Central title by defeating Vienna, 12-9, in a game played at Vienna.

The Lady Hornets have been ranked #1 since the beginning of the season and have defeated five different state-ranked teams.  Scoring nearly eight runs per game, the Lady Hornets are batting .355 as a team and have hit thirteen home runs this season.

The Lady Hornets open post-season play on Thursday, October 17, in Hermitage, Missouri, as the #1 seed in Class 1 District 2. The district semifinals are slated for Friday, October 18, and the finals will be held on Monday, October 21.

The district tournament schedule will be updated at https://www.mshsaa.org/Activities/DistrictTournaments.aspx?alg=38&class=1&district=1

The baseball Hornets also had a successful season. They finished the fall campaign with a record of 18-1. The only blemish on the season was an extra-inning defeat to New Bloomfield on October 1.

This fall, the Hornets had seven different pitchers throw from the mound, amassing an unheard-of team ERA of 1.177. The Hornets had a team batting average of .374 and outscored their opponents 194-32 through the fall campaign.
